I pledge:
  • to never drive while high, or drunk or incapacitated by prescription medication.
  • not to text or read texts when driving, ever.
  • not to read emails when driving.
  • to obey all traffic laws and speed limits when I drive.
  • to take extra care and look out for pedestrians and cyclists when I drive in cities.
  • to slow down when turning in any crosswalk.
  • to always yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk.
  • to never pass a cyclist dangerously.
  • to not smoke while driving.
  • to not eat while driving.
  • to not tailgate.
  • to stop at all stop signs and red lights.
  • to hit the brakes when the light turns yellow instead of the gas pedal.
  • to always pass on the left side and use signals for all lane changes when I am on the highway.
  • to understand the difference between being in a rush, and driving like I am in a rush, and agree not to do the latter.
  • to make sure my car is properly maintained.

I am a driver. I share the road with other drivers. As such I understand that I play a role in the effort to reduce road injuries and deaths in our country.
